Silk and Cashmere Scarf

Hi, I've just made this scarf using the wetfelting method. It was made using cream cashmere fibres and red silk fibres. It has a lovely soft silky feel to it and although it seems very delicate its actually quite strong.

Etsy Shop

Well, I finally have some items listed in the Etsy shop. There are just a few of the large flower brooches at the moment, but I hope to be adding more items over the next few days.

Please visit if you get chance - thanks.x

Etsy Shop

I've decided that I'm going to start "stocking" the Etsy shop from next Friday. A couple of reason for this - I did want to start listing items straight away but I think it's vital that the photography is of a reasonable standard on places like Etsy. There would be lots's of room for improvement regarding my photo's. I have a one off photography lesson tomorrow so I'm hoping my photo's of the items will improve after this class. Also I'm away from home then until next Friday, and I don't think there's any point listing the items but not being able to despatch them straight away. Of course I don't really expect to make a sale so soon but I'd rather not take the risk. Anyhow I have a banner set up now and have a logo, so things are moving along nicely.
Bye for now
xx

The results......

This is the cravat scarves and bag after the felting process. As you can see they are now considerably smaller, but they are also thicker and stronger.

Just need to add a magnetic fastener to the bag and a decorative button to each of the scarves and they will be complete.

Felting in the washing machine

Felting items in the washing machine can be tricky, - if they're in the machine too long the fabric can become too thick, stiff and will have shrink too much. If they're not in long enough they won't be fully felted - although that's not a disaster as they can be put back in.

I'm about to felt the (just knitted)bag and two cravat scarves shown below- and I haven't felted this type of wool before, so It will be interesting to see how they turn out. Here goes......

Here are a few more felty things I've made recently:
A couple of snowmen

Hair clips

Brooches and keyrings

Some more brooches and keyrings

A few more brooches

It's been a long time.....

Well, its been a long time since I last posted, but I will be blogging regularly from now on. I've been spending all my spare time making felty things for my stall for the Supercrop, which took place on Sunday. Here's my stall. I didn't take the photo until about half way through, so a few things had sold at this stage. It was the first fair I had participated in and I was a bit worried that it could be very embarrasing for me with nothing being sold. Anyhow I did sell a good few things and got lots of great feedback and comments, so I was really pleased. I'm going to showcase my work a bit more. I'm in the process of setting up an Etsy shop, so this should be up and running in a couple of days. You can find it here;
I hope you will pay me a visit sometime and let me know what you think

Here are closer-up images of some of the items. These big flowers are some of my favourite things. I've made them in loads of different colours. Whenever I wear mine on my jacket, its often commented on.

A couple of felty bags

Some small purses, could be used for money/coins or to hold a lipstick

A few felty peices which could be worn as a brooch or could be used as a small wall hanging, or even attached to something else.....the possibilities are endless...

A linen and felt lavender cushion - smells gorgeous

A couple of felty Angels - perfect for either the top of the Christmas tree or a Christening present
